Your Next Steps Start Here.
At Blank Canvas Church, we believe everyone has a next step. Whether you’re brand new to faith, returning to church after a long time away, or a longtime believer ready to go deeper — there is a place for you here and a step waiting for you to take. We are a church in Oak Lawn, Illinois, built on the conviction that God meets people right where they are and invites them forward into something greater. Here’s how we walk that journey together.
The 5 C's Pathway
At Blank Canvas Church, we use a simple five-stage pathway to help every person move from their first encounter with our church into a life of purpose, discipleship, and ministry.
Community — Evangelism
Your story starts here. The Community stage is about connecting with people outside the walls of the church — neighbors, coworkers, friends, and family. We want to reach people right where they are in Oak Lawn and across Chicagoland, just as Jesus did.
Crowd — Worship
The Crowd is everyone who gathers with us on Sundays. If you’ve visited Blank Canvas Church, you’ve already taken this step. We believe the Sunday Worship Experience is a powerful on-ramp for people exploring faith and community.
Congregation — Fellowship
The Congregation stage is about becoming part of the church family — not just attending, but belonging. This happens through small groups, ministry teams, and authentic relationships built over time. Life change happens in community.
Committed — Discipleship
The Committed stage is for those who are ready to go deeper. This includes growing through consistent Bible study, prayer, and serving others. Our Foundations membership class is a great next step for people ready to commit to the Blank Canvas Church family.
Core — Ministry
The Core stage is for those who are called and equipped to lead. Core leaders use their gifts in ministry to help others take their first steps — completing the cycle and multiplying disciples. Every person in the Core was once in the Crowd.

Baptism
Have you made a decision to follow Jesus but haven’t been baptized? Baptism is a public declaration of your faith and one of the most powerful steps you can take. Talk to us about taking this step.
Prayer
We believe in the power of prayer. If you need prayer for a personal situation, a health challenge, a family need, or any other concern, we want to stand with you. Submit a prayer request and our team will pray for you.

WORSHIP & SING

“Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom He gives. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts.”
—Colossians 3:16 NLT
