Alan and Terrilyn Franklin have dedicated their lives to serving God and His people, blending their unique gifts of music, ministry, and leadership to impact lives both locally and globally. After nearly 30 years of faithful service at Christian Life Center, Alan and Terrilyn became pastors of a church restart, Hope Chapel of Oak Lawn Foursquare Church, now known as Blank Canvas Church, as of October 1, 2024.

Alan Franklin was born in Chicago into a musical family of twelve children, where music and ministry were central. He began playing the violin at eight years old and continued his musical training throughout his education. After a decade in the corporate world, Alan and his twin brother, Aaron, founded Muzicnet School of Music in 1995, which now operates in Park Forest and Chicago. He co-authored Secrets to Hearing Music Patterns and Learning Gospel Piano/Organ by Ear.

Alan served for over 20 years in his parents’ church before joining the worship team at Christian Life Center. His roles included Worship Director at CLC's Blue Island (Hispanic) campus for six years and serving as an Elder for 12 years. His music ministry has extended globally to countries such as Turkey, Senegal, Croatia, Russia, and Israel. Alan also spent 11 months as Interim Music Director at South Suburban Vineyard Church. He co-authored Secrets to Hearing Music Patterns and Learning Gospel Piano/Organ by Ear.

In 2005, Alan founded the Selah Worship Conference, an annual three-day event that draws worshipers, speakers, and artists from around the world to worship God, develop ministry skills, and promote healthy family life in ministry, as well as to provide musical and performing arts training.

Terrilyn Franklin accepted God’s call to ministry at 17 and has since served as an intercessor, choir director, youth leader, and young evangelist. She founded ministry that focuses on Gatekeepers—those who serve within the seven mountains of influence—with a mission to keep influencers spiritually alert. Alongside her husband, Terrilyn served as Associate Pastor at Christian Life Center, where she once served as Director of Prayer Ministries.

Terrilyn’s heart beats for the members of Christ's body to reach their full potential in God. She is passionate about empowering leaders and families to live out their purpose and regularly speaks at conferences and retreats. Her mission is to serve as a spiritual midwife, helping others give birth to their God-given destinies.

Alan & Terrilyn are also the founders of GROWTH Ministries International (GMI), which sponsors the annual Selah Conference.

Their greatest achievement, however, remains their 35-year marriage, which has produced four beautiful daughters, one son-in love and three wonderful grandsons. Terrilyn is also the author of Discerning the Season of Your Children and Four Arrows in My Hand, which offer guidance on raising children to fulfill their God-given potential and purpose.
